ISMS: State funding for meeting statutory requirements
As of January 1, 2022, hospitals are required by law to take appropriate measures to bring their information security in line with the state of the art (Section 75c SGB V). Among other things, it is mandatory to deploy a standardized information security management system (ISMS).
To financially support hospitals in this mammoth task, the German government is providing funding of 3 billion euros as part the Hospital Future Act (KHZG). This funding will be used to drive digitalization in the hospital sector and enhance IT security in hospitals and clinics.
